Hot Chicken Festival Was...Yeah, Hot.

Monday, July 05, 2010

The Hot Chicken Festival in Nashville this weekend was nice! Some of the restaurants there included (the insanely wonderful) Prince's Hot Chicken Shack, Bolton's Spicy Chicken & Fish, 400 Degrees, Otter's, EastSide Fish, and B&C.

...and while it was nice, it would have been even nicer if there had been some way to increase the speed on the lines, or have more lines available. Whew!

It was okay though!

The number one thing to do was to - of course - eat hot chicken. There were some other things going on too, like an amateur cooking contest and a facepainting area for children. But honestly, we were all there for hot chicken and hot fish (although Av got some fish from Eastside that is advertised as the "Crunkest Fish in Town" and it isn't hot at all - it was okay, and we got the boys some barbecue from B&C that wasn't spicy).

Av decided not to stand in line for Prince's so he could survive the highest-level hot chicken they had over again - I think he really wanted to - but you know what was really fantastic? These 'hot chicken grits' from B&C:

*OH* that was good. Hot-chicken-grits. Guess what I'm going to be trying to figure out the recipe for this week...

Sure do hope everyone had a fantastic Independence Day!
