The December issue of Marie Claire Idees (it's published in France, and all the text is in French, but they have the most wonderful ideas and pictures) has a beautiful fabric scrap wreath inside, and I thought it would be fun to make for Valentine's Day using ribbons.
I used eleven different rolls of white/pink/red ribbon with varying patterns, textures, and widths. There's still plenty left on most of the rolls.
I started with a 14" diameter green wire wreath form that Av spraypainted white. Once I got started, I realized that rather than tying ribbon on all four of the round wires, I really only needed to use one of the wires - so the outer-two circles of the wreath were cut off with tin snips.
The ribbon was cut in different lengths - anywhere from about 6" to 10" or so, so it wouldn't look too uniform - and each end of the ribbon was cut into a fish-tail so it wouldn't fray:
Here's the finished product!
