Random Pics of Clarksdale

This is a pic of the crossroads sign (it's an intersection of old Hwy 61 (now there's a bypass) and Hwy 49). It's not Robert Johnson's crossroads, but it's the most-photographed sign here:

This is Cat Head Delta Blues and Folk Art - Av and I almost always buy something here. I'll post some pics of what we got on this last trip in a couple of days:

This is the WROX (original) building - now a museum. Put the radio on 1450 am.

This is Studio 61 Recording Studio:

The two pics below are of Ground Zero Blues Club - we've been there...it's okay.

This is the Stackhouse - it used to house records/cds/etc, but has been closed for several years now:

The three pics below are of the Riverside Hotel. It used to be the G.T. Thomas Afro-American Hospital, where Bessie Smith died in 1937. The hotel closed around 1940 and a few years later someone bought the building and turned it into the Riverside Hotel (it's still in business).

I just like this sign for froglegs outside the D&T Market:

These two pics are of the front & back of Abe's Barbecue. It's okay - some people *love* it.
