My friend Leslie and I visited the Swoozie's store at the Summit in Birmingham just after they first opened (they're located in the new part, behind Cheesecake Factory). We were so *wowed* - it has got to be one of the most fun places to shop. It will instantly make you want to throw someone a birthday party!
One of the really fun things that we both bought on our first trip were these little Jewish-themed ceramic charms decorated with beads that say things like 'shalom' and 'l chayim'...then I had the idea to hot-glue little magnets on the back of them and turn them into refrigerator magnets, which Leslie thought was a great idea too! I might keep a couple, and give the rest to others as little tiny presents.
Av and I were at the Summit the other day, so I asked him for us to please visit Swoozie's - we got three different things: some cocktail napkins that will be great for next year's "Redneck Riviera"-themed Sukkah party - they say "we don't care HOW you do it up North" (we *were* going to do that theme this year, but with the hurricanes I just don't feel like it really...), a little container that's shaped like a chinese takeout box that's decorated with candycorn - perfect for Halloween, and we got these great Alabama glasses! Aren't they nice?!
I've seen the state embroidered pillows that sell for over $100 - they're online here - but I hadn't seen the glasses ($10/ea) before, so I had to get a couple. Neat!
